YouTube has just introduced a new way to share videos on the platform, allowing users to send videos to each other directly and talk about them within the mobile app.
Another day, another update from YouTube. This time, the Google-owned video platform is ready to roll out an in-app feature that allows its users to easily send videos to each other – without having to copy and paste their links. With this feature, YouTube has effectively also introduced in-app direct messaging, which has been missing from its app.
The new feature has been tested for the last year, and YouTube is now ready to roll out globally.
Shared videos will now appear in a new tab in YouTube’s mobile app and you can discuss them one-to-one or in a group. As Benoît de Boursetty, Product Manager, explains:
Not only can you share and receive videos in the app, you can also chat about them right on YouTube, reply with another video, invite others to the conversation, and more.
This new feature will certainly make sharing a lot easier, faster and a lot more fun on YouTube, but you can continue sharing your videos on other apps like you’ve done so far. YouTube also recently launched the ability to speed up or slow down videos on its mobile app, as well as the addition of video previews
