If you live in the U.S. you know that when it comes to cable, costs can be very high. The problem is that there is an abundance of exciting programs to watch, but the cost of such a service makes a lot of people think twice about whether it’s worth having it at all.

We happily use Netflix, but many get annoyed about the fact that we can’t actually catch SNL… Live. When the episode becomes available the day after, well… the joke was already cold. That was until YouTube TV showed up, and changed our lives.

For a cost much lower than that of cable TV, YouTube TV gives us access to live programing, without the hassle and hidden installation fees. The only drawback is that until now, if you are an owner of an Apple device, or watch YouTube TV via a games console, the options to stream are fairly limited.

However, this is all about to change, as YouTube has promised that it will make its TV app available on Xbox One, Android TV-powered smart TVs, and the Nvidia Shield. Moreover, there are plans to launch the app for Apple TV devices and a broader range of smart TVs –  on brands such as LG, Samsung, etc.

YouTube TV was only available on Android mobiles, on Desktop (chrome only) and on Chromecast, but it will now cater to a wider audience, making the product even more appealing. And don’t even get us started on the unlimited DVR feature… this will bring us, even more, tears of joy.

RIP Cable. You won’t be missed.
