Momos have topped the list of most ordered food on Zomato in 2021.
The pandemic restrictions may have forced us to stay indoors for a long duration, but it seems to have elevated Indians love for experimental street food to the next level. According to Zomato's year-end post, India has turned into a 'momo' loving nation. With over 1.06 crore Zomato members ordering momos from various food chains and outlets, the food delivering company claims the North-Eastern dish to become quite popular in 2021.
While Biryani continues to top as India's favourite dish, with Zomato claiming to complete two delivers every second, the Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah founded company impressed everyone with another engaging slide about Paneer Butter Masala and Butter Naan. Zomato shared the post on Instagram with the title '2021 meme rewind and a little bit about how India ordered' highlighting important events and most-loved food items ordered by their members.
