The Federal Association of the Digital Economy (BVDW), formerly German Multimedia Association was founded on August 17, 1995th The association sees itself as a lobby for companies in the field of interactive marketing, digital content and interactive value creation. It has around 600 members from the segments of web agencies, e-commerce, online media planning, mobile marketing and mobile product development, online marketing, performance marketing and social media organized in the association. The headquarters of the BVDW is traditionally located in Düsseldorf. A branch office in Berlin conducts legal and network policy activities of the association.
