As the United Arab Emirates prepares to mark the Hijri New Year, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) has issued a formal announcement regarding its operational hours for the holiday. The Islamic New Year, which ushers in 1447 AH, will be observed on Friday, June 27, 2025.
In line with its commitment to uninterrupted public service, GDFRA Dubai has assured residents and travelers that key service centers and support platforms will remain accessible throughout the holiday. The authority emphasized that its goal is to maintain seamless operations while enabling customers to carry out their transactions without delays.
One of the critical points in GDRFA Dubai’s announcement is the continued operation of the Customer Happiness Center at Dubai International Airport, Terminal 3 (Arrival Hall). This center will function 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring that travelers receive the necessary support and that immigration procedures at the airport remain efficient and hassle-free.
This round-the-clock availability is especially significant during busy holiday periods, where high passenger volumes require constant and reliable service. GDRFA Dubai reiterated that its airport presence plays a vital role in facilitating smooth entry and exit for all travelers.
In addition to the airport center, the GDRFA’s Al Awir Customer Happiness Center will also be open during the holiday. Operating from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, this facility will continue to provide comprehensive services to the public. These extended hours aim to offer flexibility and accommodate individuals who need to complete important transactions even during the holiday period.
Recognizing the increasing reliance on digital tools, GDRFA Dubai highlighted the availability of its online services throughout the holiday. Customers are encouraged to use the Directorate’s official website (www.gdrfad.gov.ae) or mobile apps such as GDRFA Dubai and DubaiNow. These platforms are designed to handle a wide range of requests and transactions, from visa renewals to residency applications, all without the need for in-person visits.
By promoting digital engagement, GDRFA Dubai aims to reduce congestion at service centers and offer a convenient, time-saving alternative for residents and visitors alike.
To complement its physical and digital services, GDRFA Dubai also reminded the public of its 24/7 Amer call center. The toll-free number 8005111 remains active throughout the Hijri New Year holiday, offering assistance on various queries related to residency, visa services, and other administrative matters.
This multi-channel approach—combining on-ground service, digital accessibility, and live support—reflects GDRFA Dubai’s focus on enhancing customer experience, even during public holidays.
In its announcement, GDRFA Dubai also took a moment to extend warm wishes to the leadership and citizens of the UAE. The Directorate expressed hopes for health, prosperity, and continued national progress as the country welcomes the Islamic New Year.
As Dubai continues to position itself as a global hub for travel and business, the proactive steps taken by GDRFA during holiday periods underscore the emirate’s dedication to excellence in public service, no matter the day or season.
