Mashable: To highlight the variety of family safety features offered on the platform, TikTok has launched a series of video tutorials across the MENA region as part of its #SaferForYou programme.
Parents-turned-creators Logina Salah and Fadi AlKhatib will demonstrate how to use TikTok's resources and security features in the videos, which are intended to ensure the safety of the platform's younger users.
The campaign, which includes tutorial videos with step-by-step instructions, will not only highlight the advantages of safety features like Family Pairing, Restricted Mode, and Screentime Management for digital wellbeing on the platform, but it will also serve as a useful summertime guide on the tools that users can use to control their privacy preferences and access the content they believe is most appropriate for them.
The family pairing feature enables parents and teens to customize their teens' safety settings based on individual requirements and preferences, in keeping with TikTok's efforts to educate and inspire teenagers to adopt positive online habits.
Such campaigns are a result of the growing pressure on social media companies to control kids' "addictive" social media use.
In June, TikTok unveiled a new screen-time control tool to encourage users to take breaks from endless scrolling by letting them set personal time limits for how long they wish to spend on the app.
