A total of 1,099 horses were registered during the season, marking a 31 percent increase from 836 horses recorded in the previous season. According to the authority, the increase reflects the growing success of racing events across the country and stronger participation from owners, trainers and competitors from both the UAE and international racing communities.
The season also witnessed a sharp rise in young talent, with the number of two-year-old horses participating increasing by 68 percent compared with the 2024-2025 season. In addition, total race prize money rose by 2.69 percent, further enhancing the appeal of the UAE racing calendar.
Participation across the industry also expanded, with 167 trainers and 117 jockeys taking part during the season. Meanwhile, the number of horse owners and active syndicate members grew by 12.8 percent, reaching 967.
Rashid Al Blooshi, Steward at the Emirates Racing Authority, attributed the strong growth to the dedicated efforts of the authority’s teams, the implementation of international best practices, and close cooperation with racecourses across the UAE.
Al Blooshi reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to further boosting participation in the upcoming season by simplifying procedures and enhancing services for owners, trainers and jockeys. These initiatives aim to strengthen the UAE’s position as a leading global destination for equestrian sport and horse racing.
Al Blooshi also highlighted the success of the authority’s trial race program, noting that 971 horses took part in 26 trial races during the season. The events attracted strong interest from owners seeking to evaluate their horses’ performance and readiness ahead of official competitions.
